A High-Tech Walk Across Florida – Gainesville

According to the Florida Tech Corridor Council, a public-private organization that seeks to grow the region’s technology jobs, Gainesville is one of the cities across the center of the state on the spotlight of innovation for its research, technological innovations as well as homegrown startups.

UF Innovate comprises Tech Licensing, Ventures, and two business incubators, The Hub and Sid Martin Biotech. Together, those organizations move research discoveries from the laboratory to the market.

Research at UF plays a role in everything from keeping Florida’s crops free from disease to finding new ways to treat brain injuries. To date, the university has spawned more than 160 startups and companies.
