Alex Lualdi is the Founder and CEO of Hudson Metrics. Hudson Metrics uses a Systematic Process Driven approach to develop a variety of trading models across stock markets in Europe, USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and China. Their models are designed to capture sharp movements on the financial markets and limit the risk related to trading, trying to achieve consistency across all asset classes in order to standardize and enhance trading performance.

In this episode, Alex shares the story of how he lived on Wall Street for a couple of years where he picked up some secrets from some hedge fund managers. He talks about how he quit his job in 2001 to go trade full time and how it was a very bumpy road in the first 4 years. Now, 20 years later, Alex is still trading full time and will make anywhere between 40-60 trades on any given day. His company Hudson Metrics takes a systematic approach at creating algorithmic models for trading, and while he developed this tool for himself, there is a lot of interest from other investment firms. So much so, that he is about to take $5m in venture funding to improve the platform and commercialize it.
