The NSF is offering funding extensions for research awards through the Use-Inspired Creativity Extensions for the Bio-economy (UICREX-Bioeconomy). This opportunity supports high-risk, adventurous research with commercial or widespread adoption potential. Projects should have demonstrated translational outcomes such as patents, prototyping, or licensing. 

Eligible researchers are those with active NSF funding from participating divisions, including BIO and MPS. The funding aims to transition foundational research into tangible use-inspired innovations or minimal viable products. Activities supported include collaborations, industry internships, and patent application support.
