Interview with Juan Tomás Hernani, CEO of SATLANTIS
UF startup and UF Innovate | The Hub resident SATLANTIS is a Spanish company that develops high-performance optical payloads for Earth observation missions and has established itself as a global leader in cameras for small satellites, according to a 2020 report by Euroconsult. In March 2021, the company closed its second round of financing for 14 million and renewed in September with an additional 4.2 million. The company currently has Enagás, CDTI, ORZA, ICO, Sepides, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, SILO, the Basque Government, and the University of Florida as shareholders.
Avión Revue, an international aviation news site, interviewed Hernani about his journey licensing the technology with the University of Florida and upcoming projects.
