Alchem Laboratories Announces Expansion of Its Screening and Clinical Trial Manufacturing Capabilities
UF Innovate | Sid Martin Biotech member Alchem Laboratories Corporation, a contract manufacturing organization dedicated to excellence in custom synthesis, announced the expansion of its screening and clinical trial manufacturing capabilities through the construction of Building 3 in Alachua Florida. The new building, located near buildings 1 and 2 planned for completion in 2020, closed on financing by First Federal Bank and the Small Business Administration on January 23rd.
The 12,000 square foot multi-use facility will provide expanded high-throughput screening, biologic and drug product manufacturing clean-room areas, and analytical support. The 24 year old company has a proven track record and experienced team supporting over twenty different active clinical studies, including two products in Phase 3 clinical trials. The new building will allow continued and expanded support for these programs and is planned for completion and commissioning before the end of 2020. In addition, Alchem will initiate ISO 9001 certification to support current late-stage clinical trial and commercial manufacturing operations.
