Tech Tuesday – CordaRoy’s

In this week’s Tech Tuesday for WCJB TV20, UF Innovate’s Melanie Moron interviews Byron Young, founder and CEO of CordaRoy’s, maker of bean bag beds (and chairs, dog beds, mattresses, crash pads, outdoor beanbags, and more) right here in Gainesville. What began in Gainesville, Florida, in 1998 as bean bag chairs became bean bag beds almost by accident when the founder had two more guests than beds for an overnight stay. He simply made a bed using the square insides of his bean bag chairs — and his guests’ comfort solidified the idea. Byron patented his idea and the company has become so well known for it, you can find their website simply by searching for “bean bag bed.” The company, which has appeared on Sharktank, repurposes new foam otherwise headed for the landfill to make beanbag furniture with a lifetime warranty. CordaRoy’s continues where it started, right here in Alachua County. Special thanks to SCAD Media for co-sponsoring and producing the segment.
