The U.S. Army is hosting the xTechSoldier Fire Control competition, designed to engage both traditional and non-traditional innovators to accelerate and transition advanced technologies that support soldiers in the field. The core challenge is to develop a compact, lightweight fire control module that integrates with the Army’s existing XM157 system, enabling soldiers to aim and engage effectively under extreme conditions such as limited visibility, harsh weather, and high stress.

The competition is open to eligible small and large businesses worldwide. It is structured in three rounds: concept white paper submission, a technology pitch event, and an in-person proof-of-concept demonstration. Up to $300,000 in total prize money will be awarded, including $50,000 each to three finalists and a $100,000 prize to one final winner.
