GatorPitch Showcases University of Florida Startups in Miami

UF Innovate hosted its inaugural GatorPitch event on Thursday, November 7, at Miami’s Mana Tech, showcasing six of the University of Florida’s best startups to more than 150 attendees from South Florida’s dynamic investor and entrepreneurial community.

Dr. Elias Sayour Named Innovator of the Year

UF Innovate | Tech Licensing’s annual celebration grew to record numbers, becoming a full-day affair, in which it honored nearly 700 current University of Florida researchers who disclosed, optioned, or licensed technologies or received an issued patent in the fiscal year. One Innovator of the Year and six Inventions of the Year received special recognition.

The University of Florida, Concept Companies, and Trimark Properties Join Forces To Make Gainesville’s Innovation District a Major Economic Hub

The UF Board of Trustees is partnering with Concept Companies and Trimark Properties to expand Gainesville's Innovation District with 13 acres of land in the development pipeline. The plan aims to boost the Innovation District's presence as a place for new ideas and thriving new companies. From AI to BioTech, these new spaces will allow innovation to thrive in Gainesville and across the UF campus.

UF Innovate hosted a reception for Dr. Juan Gilbert on Thursday, November 30th. The reception was to celebrate Dr. Gilbert receiving the National Medal of Technology and Innovation from President Joe Biden.
