Keep an Eye on Carinata
Researchers from the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences have teamed up with Nuseed, a global agricultural innovator aiming to transform various crops into renewable ones, to research the viability of Carinata as a cover crop and low-carbon feedstock.
Ramdeo Seepaul, a researcher with UF|IFAS, said carinata crops produced a higher yield and offer protection for cropland during the winter season when the land isn’t being used for growth.
