AFWERX Contract Awarded to IC2 for Calibrated MHz-Bandwidth Pressure Sensors
UF startup Interdisciplinary Consulting Corporation (IC2), a technology-development company commercializing miniaturized instrumentation that monitors the health of aerospace propulsion systems and enables reduced aircraft noise and improved fuel efficiency, was awarded an AFWERX Phase 1 contract for Calibrated, MHz-Bandwidth, Dynamic Pressure Sensors for Quantitative Measurements in Hypersonic Flows through the SBIR program.
AFWERX is a community of Air Force innovators who strive to connect Airmen to solutions across the force: whether that be funding, collaborating with industry, or simply receiving guidance on a project.
The goal of this research is to develop a scientific-grade dynamic pressure sensor using MEMS piezoelectric sensing technology and optimization for bandwidths exceeding 1 MHz to enable wide-band performance and full calibration capability at targeted operating frequencies.
