Dr. Juan Gilbert Shares His “Secret Sauce” on Modern Figures Podcast

Dr. Juan Gilbert, the Andrew Banks Family Preeminence Endowed Professor and chair of the Computer & Information Science & Engineering Department, is passionate about diversifying computer science and the professoriate. He is a first-generation college student whose parents instilled in him the value of education. Dr. Gilbert purposefully chose to be a scholar-athlete but by serendipitously became a computer scientist. His attempts to avoid graduate school didn’t pan out.
