Tech Tuesday: University of Florida Lab Hopes To Assist Drivers Better Understand Automated Systems

Lan Zheng, Self-driving systems optimization

In this week’s Tech Tuesday, UF Innovate highlights how researchers, such as Dr. Lan Zheng at UF’s Human Systems Engineering Lab, are assisting drivers in better understanding automated driving systems.

“How can we better understand automated driving systems? We’re here at UF’s Human Systems Engineering Lab to learn more. Lan, tell us more about who you are and what you do,” said Bethany Gaffey, host of UF Innovate.

“Hi, I’m Lan, and I’m working as a research assistant at the Industrial Engineering department at the Human Systems Engineering Lab. So, my research focuses on consumer education for automated driving systems, pedestrian safety, risk perception, Parkinson’s disease, and autonomous technologies,” said Lan Zheng, research assistant at the University of Florida.

“What are some of the current challenges with automated driving systems?” asked Gaffey.
