Tech Tuesday: University of Florida Lab Explores Tendon Models To Better Understand Maintenance

Harrison Broadaway, 3D tendon modeling

In this week’s Tech Tuesday, UF Innovate host Bethany Gaffey interviews Harrison Broadaway, a graduate student in the Biomedical Engineering (BME) department at the University of Florida. His research focuses on developing tendon models to better understand tendon function, maintenance, and disease mechanisms.

“What does engineering have to do with human health? We’re here at UF’s Herbert Wertheim Laboratory for Engineering Excellence to learn more. Harrison, tell us more about who you are and what you do,” said Gaffey.

“Hi. My name is Harrison. I’m a third-year PhD student in the Biomedical Engineering department, and I’m currently researching how to create tendon models,” said Harrison Broadaway, graduate student at the University of Florida.

“What makes tendons so important in the human body?” asked Gaffey.
