Liposomal Ashwagandha Ingredient Linked to Mood, Cognitive Benefits: Clinical Study

Specnova’s NooGandha significantly improved performance in subjects taking the COMPASS cognitive battery test after a single dose.

A liposomal ashwagandha ingredient marketed as NooGandha by Specnova was associated with improved measures of cognition and mood, along with a strong safety profile, in a clinical study published in Nutrients.

The study, conducted by Texas A&M University, University of Wisconsin, and Increnovo LLC, recruited 59 healthy men and women, with an average age of 22.

In the randomized, double-blind trial, subjects either received 225 mg of NooGandha or a matching placebo. They were administered a fasting blood draw and took part in the COMPASS cognitive function test battery, which included word recall, word recognition, choice reaction time task, picture recognition, digit vigilance task, Corsi Block test, and the Stroop test. They were also administered Profile of Mood States questionnaires.
