Dr. Merry Jennifer Markham Elected to ASCO Nominating Committee

Merry Jennifer Markham, M.D., FACP, FASCO, associate director for medical affairs at the UF Health Cancer Center and professor in the UF Division of Hematology and Oncology, has been elected to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Nominating Committee.

Dr. Markham’s election marks the first time the University of Florida is being represented in ASCO leadership. She is one of nine ASCO members serving on the Nominating Committee for a term of three years.

“It’s an honor to be able to serve ASCO in this way,” said Dr. Markham, who is also interim chief of UF’s division of hematology and oncology. “I look forward to helping to shape the future leadership of ASCO so that the diverse ASCO membership, and thus our patients with cancer, are well represented.”
