Brain Cancer Expert Elected to Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine of Florida
Duane A. Mitchell, M.D., Ph.D., a leading expert in the search for ways to treat aggressive adult and pediatric brain tumors, has been elected a member of the Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine of Florida.
He was elected for “improving lives of adults and children with brain tumors through substantial advances in novel immunotherapies for their treatment.” He will be inducted in a ceremony during the group’s annual meeting, scheduled for Nov. 7, 2020.
Mitchell is director of the UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute; assistant vice president for research and associate dean for translational science and clinical research; and co-director of the Preston A. Wells Jr. Center for Brain Tumor Therapy.
