Sherry Benton, Ph.D., founder and chief science officer of UF startup and UF Innovate | The Hub alum TAO Connect, a St. Petersburg, Florida–based virtual platform that provides online behavioral health resources, says that “there’s been a lot of medical research into meditation, particularly mindfulness meditation,” that has shown it can actually impact physical health by reducing blood pressure and cortisol levels.

She provided 12 meditation tips that can help reduce anxiety, stress, and make peace with those unsolicited thoughts.
