Digital Mental Health Solution Offers Group Teletherapy to Universities
UF startup and UF Innovate | The Hub graduate company TAO Connect, a digital platform designed to make behavioral health therapy more accessible and effective, announced the addition of its Group Room feature, while also offering its video conferencing services to all 180 of its university partners. With this update, TAO Connect is giving more counseling centers the opportunity to offer teletherapy services when in-person sessions are not viable, ensuring students and faculty have easy access to mental health resources during this time of heightened anxiety.
Schools across the U.S. are moving to remote instruction in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to prevent major disruptions for students who rely on in-person sessions, TAO Connect is launching its Group Room feature to give clinicians the ability to meet with up to 100 users at a time. This can serve as a replacement for any previous on-campus group sessions and will also help post-practicum students and interns receive their required counseling hours, which are typically in person.
