Dr. Schmidt Elected Fellow of the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering

The International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering has elected Dr. Christine Schmidt, professor, J. Crayton Pruitt Family Chair and Department Chair, as a Fellow of IAMBE.

According to IAMBE, this honor recognizes her distinguished contribution to and leadership in the field of medical and biological engineering at an international level.

Schmidt has many notable accomplishments during her time at UF. In 2019, she received the Clemson Award for Applied Research. In 2018, she was elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors and President of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.
