UF Incubator Firm Gets $2 Million Boost for New Screen Technology

Two resident companies at a University of Florida business incubator recently received a hefty investment from Samsung to further develop technology that could revolutionize electronic displays, like televisions.

Samsung Venture Investment Corporation has invested $2 million into Matrixx Technologies, a technology company based at UF Innovate’s The Hub, for an undisclosed percentage of equity in the company. The investment was announced Monday.

Matrixx also received a $1 million investment from JSR Corporation, a leading display materials supplier.

NanoPhotonica, which has its research operation based at The Hub, received $3.5 million combined through a Samsung-led investment with DeepWork Capital.
