IMHC Scientists Create Exoskeleton That Lets Paralyzed Walk

Pensacola scientists who created a robotic exoskeleton allowing paralyzed people to move are among five finalists in an international competition sponsored by Toyota. 

The team from Pensacola’s Institute for Human and Machine Cognition received a $500,000 grant on Monday to further develop their project. They will compete for $1 million next year in Tokyo. 

IHMC partnered with UF startup and UF Innovate | The Hub graduate Myolyn, a medical device manufacturer specializing in exercise cycles for people with neurological issues, on the project.
