The EmPOWER Air Data Challenge, organized by the EPA, presents innovators with the opportunity to use power sector and environmental quality data for innovative analyses, tools, and visualizations. The overall goal is to enhance understanding of electricity generation impacts by leveraging datasets such as eGRID, Power Sector Emissions Data, CASTNET, and Allowance Trading Program Data.

Anyone who is affiliated with an accredited college or university, or a research organization (e.g., think tank) is encouraged to apply. Proposed projects may range from one semester to one academic year. Applicants may incorporate additional datasets but must use at least one of the provided datasets.
