In this week’s Tech Tuesday, UF Innovate highlights University of Florida research assessing vehicle trafficability on sandy beaches with complex topography using high-resolution satellite imagery.
Sponsored by the Office of Naval Research, the project explores applications for military and naval landings, evacuation route planning, and improving public awareness of which beach areas are safe and accessible for vehicle travel. Graduate student Stephen Adusei explains how the research can help determine optimal vehicle routes during emergency events and identify which areas of the beach are trafficable.
