In this week’s Tech Tuesday, UF Innovate spotlights the University of Florida’s Photonics Lab with Dr. Volker J. Sorger, where researchers are advancing optical technologies on semiconductor chips for AI, data centers, and space applications.
“We’re here at the Photonics Lab to learn more about the optics on semiconductor chips. Volker, tell us a little bit more about who you are and what you do?” asked Elora Duong, host of UF Innovate.
“My pleasure, my name is Volker Sorger and I’m the Rhines Endowed Professor at the University of Florida here in the ECE department. We do research and development. We innovate objects on a semiconductor chip.
