A NASA-funded UF project is helping train Florida community college instructors in AI and autonomous systems safety, creating a statewide network to strengthen the future workforce.
Armed with training from the University of Florida’s college of engineering, Santa Fe College instructors this week will train peers from other state colleges to examine the safety of autonomous systems and strengthen the workforce powering them.
Through the NASA-funded TRANSCEND project, a team of researchers is exploring the safety and trustworthiness of autonomous systems, including airplanes and drones. This month marks the next step, as Santa Fe College instructors take the lead to prepare a workforce in artificial intelligence safety.
