The UF Board of Trustees is partnering with Concept Companies and Trimark Properties to expand Gainesville's Innovation District with 13 acres of land in the development pipeline.
The plan aims to boost the Innovation District's presence as a place for new ideas and thriving new companies. From AI to BioTech, these new spaces will allow innovation to thrive in Gainesville and across the UF campus.
Concept Companies and Lacerta Therapeutics Form a Strategic Partnership Around Facilities Expansion and Financing
Concept Companies, a national commercial real estate developer with a specialty across multiple asset classes including science and technology, and Lacerta Therapeutics, Inc., a leader in the AAV gene therapy space, today announced a strategic collaboration providing Lacerta with access to financing to support expansion of operations and new facilities. The financing is being provided via Agility Venture Capital, the funding arm of Concept Companies.

Applied Genetic Technologies Corporation will build a new 21,000 square foot laboratory facility in Alachua. The facility will include control labs and a manufacturing suite and will add 50 jobs.

Avison Young facilitated a 42,500-square-foot lease agreement between Concept Companies and Ology Bioservices, a UF startup and UF Innovate | Sid Martin Biotech alum, for a new built-to-suit lab space on the heels of a federal government contract for the company to expand production capabilities, including vaccines and therapeutics for COVID-19 once finalized.
