In this week’s Tech Tuesday, UF Innovate spotlights BloomSight, a platform using predictive algorithms to help Florida residents and tourists avoid harmful algal blooms and stay safe in the water.
“Everybody loves Florida beaches, but what if you could guarantee that the beach you’re going to is safe in real time? Ja’Rell, tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do,” said Elora Duong, host of UF Innovate.
“Hello. My name is Ja’Rell Felix, and I’m the founder of BloomSight, which is a platform that allows you to get real-time data analytics on everything that’s happening in Florida to help you optimize the way that you travel. Florida has around 140 million people who come in for tourism to explore and really just take in everything that this state has to offer, but they can’t do that to the best of their ability because they don’t have the information that they need to better navigate through a [phenomenon] such as red tide,” said Ja’Rell Felix, founder of BloomSight.
