Whiteboard by The Engine™ is a one-day seminar hosted by The Engine, designed specifically for faculty members and principal investigators who are considering whether their laboratory research could become the foundation of a Tough Tech startup. The program helps researchers explore the path from breakthrough science to venture formation by evaluating commercial potential, identifying risks, and understanding the roles faculty may play in company building.

The seminar is intended for faculty, PIs, and researchers actively considering or curious about spinning out a Tough Tech company. Participants learn through real-world case studies, structured frameworks, and interactive sessions led by experienced entrepreneurs and investors.

The next Whiteboard session will be held Thursday, January 22, 2026. Register by January 15th. Interested participants can register for the Winter 2026 session and attend an information session to learn more about the program.
