To join us for the fall cohort of the NSF I-Corps at UF Regional Course, you must apply by August 28 here. This 6-week program, beginning September 24, invites researchers, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and companies to transform innovations into market-ready solutions through the proven I-Corps customer discovery process. Participants will benefit from tailored mentorship by experienced industry experts, gaining critical insights into market demands and customer needs to refine their technologies for real-world applications.
The six-week regional course will be held on Thursdays this Spring from 1-4 p.m. on the following days:

October 1, 8, 15, and 29
November 5

Are you developing a promising cancer-focused technology and seeking funding to advance it toward commercialization? Join the National Cancer Institute’s Small Business Innovation Research Development Center for an informational webinar on how early-stage companies, academic spinouts, and entrepreneurial researchers can access funding and commercialization support from the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are a critical source of non-dilutive federal funding for early-stage companies. NCI SBIR/STTR programs provide approximately $200 million annually to US small businesses advancing innovative cancer technologies, including therapeutics, diagnostics, devices, digital health tools, and research technologies. In addition to funding, the NCI SBIR Development Center offers a range of commercialization resources to help small businesses bring their products to market.

Join Inspiralia US at UF Innovate | Sid Martin for a practical workshop designed to help startups, researchers, and innovators better understand the federal funding landscape and develop stronger strategies for securing non-dilutive funding.
The session combines an educational seminar on SBIR/STTR and other federal funding opportunities with one-on-one office hours, giving participants both a broad understanding of the programs and personalized guidance tailored to their technology and funding goals.
The seminar provides a practical overview of the U.S. non-dilutive funding ecosystem, including:
• Introduction to SBIR/STTR and federal funding opportunities
• Understanding the differences between agencies (NSF, NIH, DoD and others)
• Eligibility requirements and program structure
• How to identify the right agency for your technology
• Proposal writing best practices
• Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
• Funding strategy and commercialization considerations
Participants will also have three 20-minute office hour time slots available after the seminar to discuss:
• Technology fit for SBIR/STTR
• Agency selection
• Funding strategy
• Proposal readiness
• Next steps and commercialization pathway
