The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) and VentureWell have come together to support the Design by Biomedical Undergraduate Teams (DEBUT) Challenge, a competition that recognizes undergraduate excellence in biomedical design and innovation. This opportunity is designed for undergraduate student teams developing creative, impactful solutions to unmet clinical and health-related problems. 

The challenge offers over $190,000 in prizes for 2025, and encourages participants to apply their biomedical design skills to real-world challenges in healthcare. Submissions will be evaluated based on innovation, clinical impact, and technical execution, with additional recognition for market potential and patentability.
