Event Details

The Human Lander Challenge (HuLC), presented by NASA’s Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD), invites students to develop student teams to develop innovative, systems-level solutions to understand, mitigate potential problems, and mature advanced cryogenic fluid technologies that can be implemented within 3-5 years. This competition aims to advance human landing system (HLS) technologies, with a focus on on-orbit cryogenic propellant storage for extended space missions.

The challenge is open to full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students from U.S institutions. Student teams, guided by faculty advisors, will propose systems-level solutions in areas such as cryogenic propellant transfer, mass tracking, insulation, and heat reduction.

The deadline to apply for the challenge is on March 3, 2025. To learn more and view the full opportunity listing, visit the HuLC website.
