Preparing your first Small Business Innovation Research or Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) application can be daunting and time consuming. The NIH Applicant Assistance Program (AAP) is a free, 10.5-week program that helps small businesses apply for Phase I SBIR or STTR funding. AAP provides participants with a dedicated coach with expertise in preparing NIH small business grants and services such as application needs assessment, mentoring, application preparation support, and application review. The NIH will begin accepting applications for the January 5, 2023, SBIR/STTR application cycle. The deadline for applications is Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. ET. Apply through the AAP Application Portal, which opens on Friday, August 5, 2022.
