Katie joined UF Innovate | Tech Licensing in January of 2025 as a licensing associate. She currently assists the Tech Licensing team with the review of invention disclosures, facilitation of patent prosecution and licensing agreements, invention technology portfolio management, and database information management.
Katie’s background prior to joining UF Innovate | Tech Licensing includes several years in the insurance industry as a licensed insurance analyst and in the legal industry as a paralegal. Her experience as a paralegal for an insurance defense law firm involved her managing a portfolio of cases alongside an attorney from start to finish, which included preparing cases for trial.
Katie is a New York native but resides in Florida. She is a long-term Gainesville resident. She graduated from Santa Fe College with an A.A. in English. She is currently finishing her A.S. in paralegal studies from Santa Fe College and will soon be working toward her B.S. in a related subject.
