Alachua-based entrepreneur Mitch Glaeser, co-founder of San Felasco Tech City, is taking another step toward building a locally based biotechnology company with a global reach as Synvitta Diagnostics moves its developing medical testing technology closer to commercial-scale production.

Synvitta, the Alachua-based diagnostics company and Accelerate client, co-founded by Glaeser and scientist Rainara Almeida, announced Aug. 13 that it has entered into a long-term manufacturing partnership with Quommni Technologies, a fellow Accelerate client, for its next generation of diagnostic reader systems.

The agreement represents a shift from developing the company’s technology toward establishing the manufacturing infrastructure needed to produce its diagnostic equipment at scale and pursue markets in the United States and abroad.
